My mate Johnny is a looker
His habit is a one night stand
He used to walk the streets in the usual way

Fell for the girl next door

Finding love was not so easy
Cos people thought that he was too peculiar

My mate Johnny is a preacher
As Holy as they come
He says"Follow the Lord and the Lord'll be good"
And he even started calling me son

But God was good for poor old Johnny
He lived his life behind walls of religion
But what was left was not so funny
Cos I lost my friend to this new found position
